It's that time of year again, so I figured we might have a thread for those prestigious awards....Any thoughts on who should/will win? I haven't even seen all the movies that are nominated, but that's nothing new.

I don't even know who's nominated... someone English preferably Right - now that i have had a wee look - Judi Dench (anyone but Kira really), and Joaquin Phoenix... oh, and Wallace and Grommit. No preference on the others.

I sooo wanted Felicity Huffman to win best leading actress, but sadly, it went to Reese Witherspoon Felicity's great! Yay for Wallace and Gromit. (I actually saw the whole thing - so an all-nighter once again - but I did do some essay reading at the same time; thought it was time the kids got them back..)

I am reading the results on the news right now. It was surprising. 'Brokeback Mountain' ( I don't think it was that good) was the favourite one and it lost for 'Crash' ( I didn't see this one).

I saw the show this morning (in France it began at 2AM). I was so happy for THE MARCH OF PINGUINS (French movie, YEAH!!!), WALLACE & GROMIT, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Reese Whitherspoon (but my fave was Felicity, she's amazing in Transamerica), Ang LEE (fantastic director) and for the song from HUSTLE & FLOW.
I was disappointed for Catherine KEENER and Jake GYLLENHAAL.
And I liked the duet Meryl Streep / Lily Tomlin, so funny!!!
