Couldn't resist starting this as a thread. Has anyone else read this? It's the novel that Ade wrote a while ago, but it's a very good read.....
The Character of Julian is so much like many other characters Ade has played in shows over the years, tis rather good!
*waits for MJ to find this thread*
I heart this book!

There are always many copies on Ebay, very cheap too cos it's quite an old book now.
I've read it a few times now, it's a great one to travel with because you can pick up at any point in the book and it's still good...

I was thinking about getting this book just because he wrote it. Now I guess I have no reason not to since it's a good book. Maybe I can send it in to get autographed too? Ooooooo..what a thought!

I found it! I found it! *leaps around in small excited circles*
The Gobbler is indeed a fine book - if not a tad disturbing. What what can you expect, really?
*continues to caper*

Ade kind of has a sick sordid sense of humor, doesn't he? So different from Jennifer's humor. Ah well, maybe they make each other laugh.

I listened to an Ade interview where he said that he just can't seem to write another book. He gets stuck each time. So he isn't sure if there will be any more. Also, he talked about this script he was so proud of a couple of years ago about a punk dad who's wife kicked him out so he goes to live with his kids. Wonder what ever happened to that? Maybe it's next to Jam & Jerusalem on the shelves of the BBC!
